Friday at Joan's Gardens

Friday a few of the members took advantage of the nice weather and visited Joanie's beautiful gardens to paint. Although mosquito spray is a must, and sun screen too, the gardens just beg for quite reflection and PAINTING! The poppies may be around for a few more days this week and the peonies are probably open by now. The iris are in various stages of bloom and the scenic river is always on the move. Although tomorrow is another paint out day in Manhattan, Joan has invited all members to stop by and enjoy her and her husbands labor of love.

To get to Joan's and Larry's : Joanie's phone # is 522-8668, address is 27383 Frontage Rd. Take 7th ave north to Frontage Rd, go to the last house on the right, it is white and has a for sale sign in the front yard. Pull into the drive and turn around and park facing out along the right side of the driveway.

Happy Painting!

Jerolyn Dirk’s Farm

Fred's Painting for the Day

A spectacular day at the farm!!!

It was another beautiful day and the artists were covering the grounds. They were in the fields, the shade, the sun, by the barn, the creek the sheds and the chickens. Although the creek was by far the most popular setting we had a great diversity of paintings done by noon. Someone thought that lunch time looked like birds on a wire as we were either perched in a line on the railing and chairs or lined up under the shade of the trees. (See photo below). It was a fun time with a very large turnout!

If you were unable to attend our next paint out will be:

July 1st - Karen Manley's This is a setting with beautiful flower gardens in downtown Manhattan.

Directions: Going west on I-90, take the Manhattan exit. Turn right into town. At the 4 way stop, go straight across the railroad tracks and turn right. Go 1 block and turn left onto North 5th, go to 313 North 5th. The yard is next to a church with a red door. We may also use Karen's neighbors yard.

ART SHOW 2008

WHAT A WONDERFUL RECEPTION!

For those of you who were not able to attend the shows opening night below are photos of the winning paintings and a couple of the winners with them.

The evening sky opened up from the clouds of the day and the people came to see our beautiful works displayed this year at the Bozeman Public Library. Close to 300 people walked the halls and enjoyed the wonderful treats in the reception room. We had beautiful guitar music playing for the guests and a very long table full of cards for sale.
Three paintings were sold as well as a whole bunch of the cards. One of the paintings sold was the first place winner, and I am not sure how long it will hang. So, if you’d like a close up and personal view, I’d suggest you stop by soon. All paintings sold will be replaced by another painting as per the guidelines.

Connie's painting of the road in front of the cafe.

Pine Creek was a great start to the summer paint out season. We had about 22-23 artists arrive at the Pine Creek Cafe along with some beautiful sun shine. Most were able to stay for lunch and enjoy the food and company.

Groups getting started and wondering where to go.
